This was designed to help keep debris off the y-axis rail. It was modeled for 0.080 aluminum and designed to be welded. It will bolt up to the factory x-axis rail without any modification to your machine. **You will lose about 0.250" of travel in the x-axis, but it has not been a problem for me**
