Summary
Made the mistake of buying the regular chop saw stand with this new miter saw in which they are not compatible. Decided to make the stand work instead of returning so I drew up and cut out this base plate for the saw out of 3/16 plate and attached it to the stand. You could always use this base plate to mount on a stand or small table as well.
