4' x 8' Cutting Solution Comparison
Both cut a 4' x 8' area, hold 0.002" per foot positioning accuracy, and run on in-house Langmuir Systems software. Apollo 8 trades plate thickness for edge quality and fine detail. CrossFire XR trades edge finish for thick plate and a much lower entry price.

Apollo 8's limits come from its 1500W Max Photonics source. CrossFire XR's limit is set by the plasma cutter you pair it with; the table is built to carry 1" steel. Bars are drawn to scale.
Actual cut quality and speed vary with material, gas and consumables.
Top view, drawn to scale. Both hold a full 4' x 8' sheet.
74" W × 77" H × 122" L. Ships nearly complete by flatbed; the upper enclosure goes on in about 1–2 hours. Gantry clears a 60" sheet.
5.2' × 9.0' frame, 6.6' × 11.3' with the mounted touchscreen. Ships in two crates, or fully assembled for $1,495.
48" × 96" cutting area with 4" of Z travel. Z clearance is 2.25" on Apollo and 2.5" on XR with the guard (4.25" without).
Pick the answer closest to your work and the recommendation updates as you go.
Choose Apollo 8 if you cut sheet up to 1/2" carbon steel and want clean, detailed edges with little cleanup, including stainless steel (up to 7/32"), aluminum (3/16") and brass (1/8"). It is fully enclosed and needs two 240V circuits.
Choose CrossFire XR if you cut plate thicker than 1/2" (up to 1" with a Hypertherm85 SYNC), work mostly in mild steel, or want a lower entry price. The table runs from a 120V outlet, plus power for your plasma cutter.

Excludes gas or a compressor for either machine. Apollo runs on O₂/N₂ tanks or suitable shop air; an Ozen 4Td compressor with dryer is available for $12,700. Table + Hypertherm options are table and cutter list prices added together.
