The CrossFire XR is a full-size 4' x 8' CNC plasma table built for production metal fabrication. Load full sheets and cut steel up to 1" thick right in your own shop. Its 750-pound industrial steel frame, ball screw drives, and 0.002" per foot motion accuracy turn out clean, repeatable parts at up to 400 IPM. Every CrossFire XR ships with LS-THC automatic torch height control, FireControl XR software, and an MC4000 touchscreen control PC. As a 48" x 96" plasma table, the CrossFire XR lets you stop outsourcing your cutting, shorten lead times, and keep more of your margin.

Why Ball Screws Instead of Rack and Pinion?

Many 4x8 CNC plasma tables use rack and pinion drives. The CrossFire XR uses 1/2" ball screws with driven ball nuts instead. Here's what that means for your parts.

Tighter Accuracy

Ball screws hold motion accuracy to 0.002" per foot, so parts cut on one end of the sheet match parts cut on the other.

Less Backlash

Rolling balls instead of meshing gear teeth means less play when the machine changes direction, for cleaner corners and holes.

Faster Acceleration

The XR gets up to its 400 IPM cut speed quickly, which matters most on detailed parts with lots of short moves.

No Screw Whip

The screws stay still while the ball nuts rotate, so long screws don't whip at high speed across the full 8' length.

Which Plasma Cutter Should I Pair With the XR?

The CrossFire XR works with every plasma cutter we sell. Choose by the thickest steel you cut regularly, using each cutter's clean-cut rating.

Razorweld Razorcut 45

The budget choice. Cuts steel cleanly to 1/2" and plugs straight into the XR. Needs 6.7 CFM at 75 psi.

Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC

Cuts cleanly to 5/8" with single-cartridge consumables and a higher duty cycle. Needs only 4 scfm at 90 psi.

Hypertherm Powermax65 SYNC

Cuts cleanly to 3/4" for heavier brackets, plates, and structural parts. Needs 7.5 scfm at 85 psi.

Hypertherm Powermax85 SYNC

Cuts cleanly to 1", the most the XR's frame is built to support. Needs 7.5 scfm at 85 psi.

What You Need to Run a CrossFire XR

Plan your shop space, power, and air before your XR arrives.

Floor Space

The XR's footprint is 5.2' x 9.0', or 6.6' x 11.3' with the mounted touchscreen. Leave room around it to slide full sheets onto the table.

Power

The table runs on one 120V, 20A outlet. Plan extra 120V outlets for the air compressor, control PC, and touchscreen, plus a 220V circuit for your plasma cutter.

Compressed Air

Your compressor must keep up with your plasma cutter's rated air flow continuously. Add a filter or dryer to keep moisture and oil out of your consumables.

Ventilation

The 65-gallon water table traps much of the dust and heat from cutting, but plasma still makes smoke. Cut in a well-ventilated space.

Control PC Included

The MC4000 Windows 11 PC, 21.5" HD touchscreen, and wireless pendant come with every XR, so you don't need your own computer.

Delivery

The XR ships freight in two crates (570 lb and 230 lb). You'll need liftgate delivery unless you have a forklift.

How much does a 4x8 CNC plasma table cost?

The CrossFire XR starts at $6,995 and includes LS-THC torch height control, FireControl XR software, and the MC4000 control PC with touchscreen. The plasma cutter and freight shipping are extra, and full assembly is available.

How thick can the CrossFire XR cut?

The XR's frame supports steel up to 1" thick. How thick you can cut depends on your plasma cutter: the Razorcut 45 cuts cleanly to 1/2", the Powermax45 SYNC to 5/8", the Powermax65 SYNC to 3/4", and the Powermax85 SYNC to 1".

How much floor space do I need for the CrossFire XR?

Is a 4x8 plasma table worth it for a small business?

Do you ship the CrossFire XR internationally?

No. The CrossFire XR ships only within the contiguous United States, and its warranty is valid only in the U.S.

What are the electrical requirements?

The machine runs on a single 120V, 20A outlet. You will need additional 120V outlets for the air compressor, control computer, and touchscreen, plus 220V for your plasma cutter.

Can I fit full sheets of metal on my CrossFire XR CNC Plasma Table?

Yes. The 48" x 96" cutting area fits standard 4' x 8' sheets, and the frame supports full sheets up to 1" thick.

What is Initial Height Sensing (IHS)? Does it cost extra?

IHS is the system that automatically senses the top surface of the material to ensure that the torch pierces at the perfect height for each cut. It works on wet, painted, or rusted surfaces. It's standard on every CrossFire XR.

What is automatic Torch Height Control (THC)?

The included automatic Torch Height Control unit is an electronic module that is wired to your plasma cutter and the electronics enclosure for the purpose of maintaining the same torch-tip-to-material distance during cutting. This is required when cutting large sheets of material that may not be perfectly flat and also to account for material warpage during cutting.

What Plasma Cutters are compatible with the CrossFire XR CNC Plasma Table?

The XR works with every plasma cutter we sell, from the Razorcut 45 to the Hypertherm Powermax85 SYNC. See our plasma cutter compatibility page for details. Cutters bought elsewhere must be blowback-start, use a machine torch, and have a torch lead at least 25' long.

How can I purchase replacement parts for this machine?

Langmuir Systems keeps an inventory of all replacement parts that go into a CrossFire XR. Any necessary replacement parts will be shipped to you free of charge while your machine is still under factory warranty. After the warranty expires, simply email [email protected] for current pricing on replacement items.

How will the CrossFire XR CNC Plasma Table ship?

The CrossFire XR will ship freight in two specially designed crates. They will require a liftgate delivery unless the delivery location is equipped with a forklift. The dimensions and weights are:

What is the Return and Refund Policy for the CrossFire XR CNC Plasma Table?

All products sold directly by Langmuir Systems are eligible for return and refund. The terms of the return and refund policy are listed below:

  1. Only the original buyer of the item is eligible to return the item for a refund. Proof of purchase is required in order to be eligible for a refund.
  2. A return must be requested within 30 calendar days following the delivery of the item. Return requests after the eligibility period will be denied.
  3. The buyer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with shipping the item back.
  4. Items that are eligible for return must meet all of the following requirements:
    The item must be in unused condition.
    The item must be free of defects.
    The item must be received in the original packaging.
  5. Langmuir Systems will inspect the item within 5 business days of receiving it. The buyer will be informed if it passes inspection and thus is eligible for a refund.
  6. If Langmuir Systems concludes that the item meets the refund eligibility requirements, a refund for the original transaction amount minus a 20% restocking fee will be issued to the Buyer within 5 business days following the completion of the inspection.
  7. 'In person' returns require permission from Langmuir Systems in advance.
